Great 4 Week Stay!
We’re just finishing a 4 week stay in this wonderful loft and I’ve joked with Mary Ann [owner] and Paul [property mgr] that I don’t want anyone else to know about this place!! But that wouldn’t be fair at all.

This is one of our favorite areas of town—not only because it’s just a short walk to our kids and grand-daughter, tho that’s definitely a bonus. I love walking through the neighborhoods covered with towering trees, past a lovely mix of original early 20th century houses and those that have been updated by Bozeman’s fabulous architects. In one direction from here you arrive at Main St where we did marketing, bought books, got massages and energy work, had terrific meals [Caspian, Blackbird, Dave’s Sushi, Sweet Chili], fun breakfast [Jam], and saw films [Emerson Ctr & The Ellen]. Walk east a few blocks and you access hiking/biking/running trails. Turn west and you quickly arrive at the University.

Since I’m not a skier, as my husband is, being in a place with so much natural light— and convenient to many places— is important to me. Even on the most overcast days this loft always felt light and airy. While he skied I caught up on work, unwound, and enjoyed every minute being here. He got up to Bridger Bowl easily and often, having time in a day for skiing, down-time, being Grandpa, enjoying Bozeman with the family.

Mary Ann is the perfect host—friendly, helpful, accommodating. As a more than 20-year Bozeman resident she’s a font of information. Computer on the fritz? No problem—friend of her son was available. Consignment shopper? Best gear shopping is just a few blocks from here. Alternate hiking route to the library? Just turn at the corner. Whether this unit’s available on subsequent visits I’m looking forward to connecting with her—even when my computer’s just fine.

We’ve loved our time here and know you will, too. And then you’ll understand why I hadn’t been keen to share our feelings about this truly light and airy downtown loft. Enjoy! Lynn and Bill, Santa Fe NM

Great vacation at the Loft Apartment!
I had the opportunity to visit Bozeman for a month. The loft was in such a perfect location to main street. Paul the manager has so many bikes to choose from and provides drop off & pick up service. Very thing was perfect. Mary ann the owner would provide tips of the day. She was amazing. The list of things to do are endless. From riding my bike up in the mountains all day directly from the loft……to walking to music on main with my daughter and her friends. I spent lots of money at the farmers markets……fresh cherries from the flathead area….the local foods I am still craving. Never really needed a car. The loft apartment had everything I needed & was comfy & safe. Mahalo nui loa Mary Ann & Paul………..I will come back to ski this winter.

Black Ave Loft
I got to stay in the Loft studio while in Grad school for 3 months (2-5/2014). It was amazing! I am so grateful to the owner and the property manager, they always made sure I was taken care of and the owner offered housekeeping at no extra cost, which was great! The place is clean, bright, and perfectly located. I walked everywhere, downtown is a few blocks north, and there is a great running path just a few blocks east. Everything I could need and then some was in the Loft and the owner was always open to getting more if needed. The wireless was always working and never seemed slow. The stainless steel rain shower and clawfoot tub are fun extras. Keyless entry is the greatest thing ever. My time here was so great I came back to Bozeman permanently. I just wish I could buy this place :]

Great Place to Stay in Bozeman!
We rarely give 5 stars to anything…but this place is spectacular! The owners are warm and inviting and couldn’t be more helpful. The area is filled with historic and architecturally interesting buildings and homes and so very close to downtown. The owners had bikes available for us to use and we enjoyed the short ride to the downtown Bozeman restaurants and bars and along the scenic bike trails. The apartment itself is wonderful, with a mix of classic and modern that made our stay even more special. The bathtub in the living space gave what was a beautiful renovation an even more exotic touch…we loved it! It is simply the best place to stay in town. We will be back!!!

Cozy and handy to downtown, very helpful landlady
Easy walk to Main Street, so we never had to drive to dinner. We used the house as a base for an art workshop and adventuring around that part of Montana, fishing, hiking, and an outing to Yellowstone. The bed was very comfortable. For me it was in part a working vacation, and there was a good desk with a view to the street and excellent wireless. We were there during an all-time hot spell, so it was a little warm, but the upstairs location catches a good breeze and cooled off at night. We just had to ask, and received all of the advice on the community, activities, and restaurants that we could possibly want. House is in a nice quite neighborhood, with good access to trails for jogging and walking. I’d certainly want to come back here if our plans took us back to Bozeman. The apartment is one big loft with an open floor plan, so would be unlikely to work for families with children or more than one couple.

Fantastic Experience–great location, house, and landlords
Bozeman, Montana is already a wonderful place to visit as outdoor recreation is never far away, whether it be river rafting, bicycling, hiking, etc, and the town itself is a vibrant blend of the West and contemporary local, community living. This beautiful downtown loft makes all of that stand out even further. The house is beautiful, the upstairs loft was comfortable and spacious, and we were only a few short blocks from Bozeman’s Main Street. Our needs were always promptly attended to and we felt welcome and taken care of. We stayed in this loft for over a month and a half. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Excellent studio apartment, walking distance to Main Street
I arrived at the Loft after a 28 hour flight from Oz (seemingly half of that time waiting in airports) to be warmly greeted by Maryann who was keen to make me welcome.
During the week she was a font of information on local attractions, restaurants, markets etc. She even suggested places for me to fish (via her son 🙂 ).
The Loft is in a great street and is an easy walk to the main street. It is an open plan loft with plenty of room, a very nice kitchen and bathroom and good internet connection. Parking is right outside.
I very much enjoyed the week I spent in Bozeman and am in the early stages of planning my return. I will be staying in the Loft again! Should they have me (heh heh heh).

Perfect Location
Wonderful little loft within walking distance to many areas. Quiet, clean, and well appointed. We weren’t quite sure when we first arrived how to get into the house…thought we had our own entrance but as it turned out the front door was it. The owner was very helpful even letting us know about the bears in the alley looking for apples and berries in the early morning hours. Great stay, we will tell our friends and will be back.

HELPFUL and Kind
Our stay was very fast. I needed a place that was nearby the venue my niece was getting married. The owners met us at the door with smiles and warm greetings and then to help us unload our bags and get situated in the loft! All of our requests were met in a timely manner and with a good attitude. I would stay here again and would suggest that you do the same. The loft is larger than the what the pictures show. The claw foot tub was most relaxing after a long day of working preparing for the wedding. The kitchen was stocked with the basics that are needed to start a morning off RIGHT. Thanks for a great stay!

Centrally located, charming and accommodative hosts.
Visited Bozeman to move in my freshman son. Hosts greeted me upon arrival and made clear should I have any questions or requests they were available. Upon discovering that I needed an additional bed, one was provided immediately. 🙂 Accommodations are clean, kitchen stocked with essentials, tub & shower options and great sitting areas. Overall a terrific stay and would return happily. Thank You! MSU Bobcat Mom!

Wonderful Long Summer Stay in Bozeman–Couple plus 6 month old!
We had a wonderful stay in Bozeman in the loft. This was our first vrbo stay, were planning a 2 month vacation, with a 6 month old–so we were a little concerned. Could not have been happier with the accommodation! The location could not be better (easy walking distance to downtown, farmer’s markets, pool, wonderful public library, trails, coffee, yoga).
I think the loft is bigger than it looks in the photos. There is A TON of built in storage space (plenty for all three of us to have our clothes for the entire summer in drawers or in the closet). We loved the tub for the little one (and us) and the shower is really nice! It was perfectly cleaned when we arrived. The internet works great! The bedding and mattress were both clean and comfortable.
The TV does have “bunny ears” so we were able to watch the NBA finals. We have access to our own entrance from the main street and have used the front yard a lot to play with the baby. We had a few hot days when the baby was sick, so we had the window AC put it. It works great and was placed the day we asked!
The owners are quick to respond to any issue. They have offered for us to use their bikes, extra seating for the yard, extra fans (there is a really nice ceiling fan), help with laundry, babysit on the 4th…you name it! Because we had a lot of laundry we felt better doing our own (used a very nice coin op a short drive away–Clothesline). Also, they gave great recommendations–used a cloth diapering service and had the baby in infant swim–both on their recommendations!
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We would recommend to a friend/ stay again!

Bozeman Stay
This was our first trip to the Bozeman area. Not only did we love Bozeman, but we also thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Downtown Loft! The owners were fantastic and quite helpful with recommended sites to visit. The Loft was quiet, clean, and in a great location within walking distance of Main Street and Montana State University. We hope to come back to Bozeman soon!

Perfect!
My husband and I recently stayed in this wonderful loft for the weekend when we flew to Bozeman to meet our daughter. It was perfect! Very bright and airy, and much larger than it appears in the pictures. Although we didn’t cook, it has a great little kitchen. Everything was very clean and the furnishings were terrific! It is conveniently located close to downtown. We highly recommend it to others and will happily stay there again!

South Black Loft
My boyfriend and I counted ourselves very lucky to spend a month in the South Black Loft. The space is very well thought through with wonderful touches that make it feel both homey and luxurious all at the same time: a full kitchen, rain shower, a cozy breakfast nook, nice desk, really smart lighting design, and of course the claw-foot tub. Not only was the space pretty much perfect, the Martell’s were fantastic hosts. They both respected our privacy while sharing their local wisdom and advice, even sharing meals and fresh elk meat! I have to say, their welcome plus the beautiful space made Bozeman feel like home. Finally, we loved the location. We walked downtown to the co-op and local restaurants on a daily basis. I can’t recommend the loft enough!”

Check this place out!
Really cool place to stay in Bozeman. There are so many things to do in the outdoors during both the winter and summer, and as much as we like being outside, it was very enjoyable to stay inside. The room is super spacious and really clean. The bathtub, kitchen, comfy bed and sauna like shower are all really nice. The owners are awesome!

Charming and convienient
This place is GReat!! We stayed here for the week leading up to our marriage at Springhill and it was the perfect little marriage suite. The style is fun, stylish and modern but still very comfortable and welcoming. And with all the wedding visitors in town we needed a place convenient to town and to the farmer’s market. This place was perfect.

Great location, great loft!
This is long overdue…sorry. We (hubby and I) were visiting our son who lives in Bozeman and wanted something close to downtown and non-motel/hotel. This loft was just perfect! Super clean; great location within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, shopping, hiking and biking; and the owners — who live on premises — were really nice and very friendly but not overbearing. It was a great experience, and we’d recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect Spot for a Family of 3
What a great find this place is! It is immaculately clean and very well thought out. The loft is just a few blocks from Main Street (old downtown) so it is walking distance to many great restaurants and shopping. We didn’t get in our car all weekend; we even walked to the Museum of the Rockies just over a mile away down a nice city trail that you can catch just a few blocks from the home.

Manager response:
Glad all three of you had a fun time and got to abandon your car during your stay. As you learned, downtown Bozeman has lots of walking trails that are fun to explore throughout all four seasons. We look forward to your next visit. Winter will soon be with us, so it’s time to break out the skis and get ready to experience Bridger Bowl, a 20 minute drive from Loft-To-Lift!!!!
Historic loft with modern furnishing
Beautiful place and lovely owners. The loft has been remodeled with contemporary furnishings with exquisite touch. Walking distance to downtown restaurants as well as parks makes this an ideal place to base from for a visit to Bozeman. We loved the place and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Manager response:
Great to hear back from you. Being so close to downtown allows us to indulge in all that historic downtown Bozeman has to offer with no need of a car. Hiking trails can be found literally 3 blocks from our home. We find that there is nothing like a fine meal after an equally fine hike! And it is around this time of year that the wild flowers are out in full force. It is quite a pretty sight!
Wish we could have stayed longer!
After a long drive from California, the warm welcome from the owners Richard and Mary Ann and the beautiful loft space that they have created was exactly what we needed to start our Montana/Wyoming vacation in true style. So close to downtown we would stroll to and from the shops and restaurants there without giving it a second thought, and also a short walk to the many hiking trails around Bozeman, one of which led us to the Sola Cafe, recommended by Richard and Mary Ann and home to blackberry cheesecake so good it should be illegal. The loft has everything you need to feel at home, with lots of nice touches (the coffeemaker being very welcome for a couple of caffeine addicts like us), as well as an excellent selection of local and regional guides to help you make the most of the area. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Manager response:
Delighted to find that you enjoyed your stay and that the “nice touches” added to your Bozeman Experience. We have traveled the world and found that often it is the little things that can made a trip even more memorable. So we are happy you enjoyed the fresh, high quality coffee and coffee grinder, along with the guides (and advice) we provide regarding the best of Bozeman.
Sweet Place with a short, pleasant walk to downtown restaurants and shops
We were comfortable, had plenty of privacy and the loft gave us a nice open and inviting feel. When we wanted information about the area, the owners were helpful and interesting to talk with. Everything was clean and fresh. Perfect for a couple or single person wanting quiet and rest with Bozeman Main Street a few moments’ walk away! It is clear that care is taken to provide guests with a cozy home away from home. Would recommend it fully. Enjoy!

Relaxing Home; Very Convenient to Downtown and Trails,
The reason that I selected this home to rent was for the bathtub. I love to relax and read a book in the tub and this was the perfect place to do that (there was also a windowseat that was almost as good for reading as well). My trip to Bozeman was partly working and partly for fun. I liked that there were different designated areas to the loft so that I had a desk for work but could relax and read out of sight of my work desk. The location could not be more convenient. You are 4 blocks from downtown Mainstreet and about the same distance from Burke Park/Peet’s Hill for those of you familiar with Bozeman. The owners went out of their way to make certain that we had everything we needed. I was impressed with the chilled jug of water and ample coffee supply already available. There were also some recommended movies stocked. The bed was very comfortable. My husband has a bad back and is a wonderful barometer for a good bed! We had a great stay and hope the loft is available during our return visits!

The location of the Loft is “primo” walking distance to downtown and this made our stay awesome. Thanks so much for the “inside scoop” on restaurants and local events such as the Farmers Market. A great vacation has three important elements: (1) location, mountains and scenery (2) nice friendly people, and; (3) great food. Bozeman and the Loft had all three. We enjoyed an awesome sunset after dinner at Plonk. Your accommodations and comfortable Loft made for a truly enjoyable visit to Bozeman! Thanks again. We will be back.
